Robert Tremblay

Robert Tremblay is an associate at BHOLE IP LAW as well as a technical consultant on patent matters. Robert assists with preparing and negotiating technology-related commercial agreements (e.g. SaaS, terms of use, software licensing, manufacturing agreements), as well as protecting and enforcing IP (patents, trademarks and industrial designs). He also advises on privacy law and other technology law matters. Robert’s patent expertise focuses on machine learning, augmented and virtual reality, cryptography, electrical devices and consumer outdoor products. Having previously co-founded a data marketplace start-up, Robert has an entrepreneurial mindset and an appreciation for the importance of delivering practical legal advice that responds to business needs. Robert is active in the legal and technology communities. He is currently Marketing Chair of the Toronto Chapter of the Licensing Executives Society, a mentor at the University of Toronto Hatchery, and an active member of various other organisations. Prior to joining the firm, he worked at a national intellectual property firm in downtown Toronto, where he assisted with prosecuting patent applications and defending clients from allegations of intellectual property infringement. Robert received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a law degree from Queen’s University. While studying engineering, he summered as an operations coordinator at a large engineering company. The focus of Robert’s non-technical studies has been commerce and finance. Robert is also currently tackling a few small Python projects. Robert speaks English and French, and enjoys tennis and skiing.
